The state Department of State has developed an index of New York State corporations and business entities that can be used free of charge at the department's website.

Walsh serves on the Department of State's Corporations Advisory Task Force, which helped shape the new business index.

It includes information on corporations, not-for-profit corporations, limited partnerships, limited-liability companies, and limited-liability partnerships, as well as other miscellaneous businesses.

The index provides the correct current name of the corporation or business entity and current names and addresses of can be used free of charge. It is updated regularly.

The index was developed by the department's Division of Corporations.
