The Business Council Announces Dates for Signature Event: 2021 Annual Meeting ‘Back to Business’ 

Syracuse Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim To Deliver Keynote Address   

ALBANY – The Business Council of New York State Inc., announced Wednesday, dates for the 2021 Annual Meeting to be held at The Sagamore Resort on Lake George. The Annual Meeting is The Business Council’s signature event. This year’s theme is “Back to Business” and will feature an agenda aimed at helping employers return to a sense of normalcy while preparing them for a new era of a post pandemic workplace, including newly adopted state and federal workplace guidelines and employee rights.

The Annual Meeting will also feature a look at the upcoming 2022 mid-term election cycles on both the state and federal levels.
Keynote Speaker
The event’s keynote is Syracuse Men’s Head Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim. The Central New York native is in his 46th season as men’s basketball coach at his alma mater. A member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Boeheim trails only Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski in all-time wins and games coached at the Division I level. Boeheim has guided Syracuse to 35 NCAA Tournament berths and the 2003 NCAA Championship. Off the court, he and his wife, Juli, head up the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation, which supports children in need and those touched by cancer. 

Event Dates
This year’s Annual Meeting will take place September 22 – 24 at The Sagamore Resort, Bolton Landing.

  • The three-day event begins with a nine-hole golf tournament on Wednesday, September 22
  • The keynote address will be delivered after dinner on Thursday, September 23 by Syracuse Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim
  • The event concludes Friday, September 24 with a “What to Expect in 2022” New York State legislative session preview.
