Advocacy in Action - New York Health Information Privacy Bill
The New York Health Information Privacy Act's goal is to protect New Yorkers' sensitive health information, something The Business Council supports. However, the bill is flawed, going far beyond consumer data protection laws of other states while limiting consumer access, jeopardizing growth, and increasing costs for all. Governor Hochul has until December 19 to act. The Business Council, along with almost 50 groups, has sent her a letter asking for a veto.
