Tony LaRusso has been a part of National Grid for 24 years, and currently serves as Project Director for National Grid Ventures, the company’s competitive division focused on accelerating the development of our clean energy future.

As Project Director, Tony is responsible for the development of hydrogen projects within NGV. His previous project work includes leading the Fields Point Liquefaction Project through a successful FERC certificate approval, Project Director for Vermont Green Line HVDC transmission project, and leading work streams within other large NGV projects including Granite State Power Link and the NY Bight OSW Joint Venture Development. Tony manages NGV ownership in Millennium Pipeline and serves as SHE Lead for US NGV Strategic Development and Partnerships.

Before joining the Business Development team in 2013, Tony held roles within Network Strategy, where he managed gas regulatory compliance and developed
renewable gas projects as a Delivery Manager in the former Sustainable Gas Group.

His operational experience includes managing Rhode Island LNG Operations and various other positions within US LNG Operations. Prior to working in LNG, Tony was a Senior Engineer in Gas Project Engineering, where he designed and oversaw the construction of gas capital projects. Prior to joining National Grid, he served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Coast Guard and continued his military career in the Coast Guard Reserve with Active Duty status during the Deepwater Horizon and Hurricane Irma responses. Tony retired from the Coast Guard after serving 24 years with the rank of Captain.

Tony holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering from Boston University. External committee work includes former membership on the American Gas Association’s Supplemental Gas and Transmission Measurement Committees, serving as Sub Chair on the ASTM International Gaseous Fuel Standards Committee, and current memberships within the Project Management Institute and American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
