Steve Cortes is Senior Advisor for Strategy for the Trump 2020 campaign.
Cortes has appeared daily on national TV news programs for over a decade. His broadcast career began at CNBC where he commented on financial markets, primarily as part of the “Fast Money” franchise. He then transitioned to politics, working first as a contributor to Fox News before serving as a primary TV surrogate for the Trump 2016 presidential campaign and was named to Trump’s Hispanic Advisory Council. Regarding hundreds of TV hits on behalf of Team Trump, Maria Bartiromo of Fox News said “Steve was a strong communicator who understood very early on what the people wanted in a commander-in chief.”
Post-election, Cortes served as a political commentator for CNN. As one of the few broadcasters who has worked on-air for all three major cable news channels, Steve draws upon his 25-year career on Wall St. when discussing key economic issues. Cortes formerly served as head strategist for BGC Partners, providing risk management strategies to banks and global funds.
He graduated from Georgetown which nominated him for the Rhodes Scholarship, and he played football.
