ALBANY—Senator Bruno's proposed new tax cuts will make New York's tax burden smaller and its recovery even stronger.

The tax cuts already engineered by Governor Pataki and the legislative leaders have enhanced the state's fiscal health, improved our economic competitiveness, and created jobs.

Senator Bruno's new proposals will improve the lives of working New Yorkers even more, by making it possible for New York businesses to create and keep still more jobs in the Empire State.

Enhancing the earned income tax credit, in particular, will put more money into the pockets of those workers who need it most. And it will further shift the balance of incentives away from dependency and toward greater economic opportunity.
