The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and the Department of State (DOS) have announced a series of public information meetings to discuss opportunities for funding under the Environmental Restoration Program (ERP) and the new Brownfields Opportunity Areas Program(BOA).
The meetings, geared toward municipalities, corporations and community-based organizations that might apply for either program, will discuss the application process and eligibility requirements.
Scheduled meeting locations include:
- Monday, April 26, 2004: Syracuse, State Fairgrounds, Arts and Home
Center; State Fair Boulevard 10 a.m. through 3 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 27: Youngstown, Village Center, 240 Lockport Street;
10 a.m. through 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 28: Olean, Jamestown Community College, Olean Campus,
College Center Building, Rooms 226-228, 260 North Union Street; 10 a.m.
through 3 p.m.
- Thursday, April 29: Greece, Town Hall, 1 Vince Tofany Boulevard; 10
a.m. through 3 p.m.
- Friday, April 30: Seneca Falls, Seneca Falls Community Center, 35
Water Street; 10 a.m. through 3 p.m.
- Monday, May 3: New York City, Harlem State Office Building, 163 West
125th Street, 8th Floor; 10 a.m. through 3 p.m.
- Tuesday, May 4: Oyster Bay, Planting Fields Arboretum, Horticultural
Center Building, Planting Fields Road; 10 a.m. through 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, May 5: Hyde Park, Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Museum
and Library, The Henry A. Wallace Visitor Center, 4079 Route 9/Albany
Post Road; 11 a.m. through 3 p.m.
- Thursday, May 6: Saratoga Springs, Saratoga Spa State Park, Administration

- Friday, May 7: Watertown, Dulles State Office Building 11th floor, 317 Washington Street; 10 a.m. through 3 p.m.
The new BOA program is jointly administered by the DEC and DOS. The program allows municipalities and community-based organizations to apply for assistance to redevelop a brownfield site. Application packages for the program are now available from the DOS and must be completed and returned by June 20, 2004.
The ERP program provides grants to municipalities working in partnership with community-based organizations to reimburse some costs spent on redevelopment of municipally owned and operated brownfield sites. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis.
