New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC)

Since June 2020 Mr. Sheeley has served as the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Chief Permit Administrator in Albany, New York. Prior to that, he worked over 10 years in the DEC Region 8 office in Avon as Regional Permit Administrator and 10 years in the DEC Region 3 office in New Paltz as a Deputy Regional Permit Administrator and Environmental Analyst. Before joining DEC in 1998, he also worked three years with the Indiana Department of Transportation in Indianapolis as an Environmental Scientist. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology & Environmental Science from Taylor University in Upland Indiana, and a Master of Science degree in Environmental & Forest Biology from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, New York.
