Scott Crisafulli

Scott Crisafulli is Deputy Counsel for the Office of General Counsel at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). In his current capacity, Mr. Crisafulli focuses on administrative litigation, enforcement matters, and provides support to the New York Attorney General on civil enforcement matters. He also provides legal advice on criminal environmental matters, water, lands and forests, fish and wildlife, hazardous waste, solid wastes, brownfields, pesticides, and minerals.
Mr. Crisafulli joined the Department in May of 1994. At that time his job duties focused on the Onondaga Lake Inactive Hazardous Waste Site in Syracuse. He performed that task until assuming responsibility for water enforcement responsibilities in November of 1998, after which he served as the Chief of the General Enforcement Bureau, supervising attorneys and paralegals performing enforcement work for numerous programs. He has been employed as Deputy Counsel since 2014.
Mr. Crisafulli holds a double major in economics and government from St. Lawrence University, and graduated from Albany Law School. He is a member in good standing of the New York State Bar, and is also admitted in the Federal District Court for the Northern District of New York.
