Romulo Garza is a Vice President in the Asset Management division at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), which manages over 64 million square feet of City-owned real estate. Romulo manages a portfolio of freight and offshore wind assets and is part of the leadership team at NYCEDC laying the groundwork to attract offshore wind to NYC. In the fall of 2021 NYCEDC released a $191 million offshore wind plan that will direct the City’s investment in three core strategies: (1) sites and infrastructure, (2) business and workforce, and (3) research and innovation. Romulo also oversees NYCEDC’s efforts in the revitalization of the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT), a 72-acre site that will be a hub for the offshore wind industry.

Prior to NYCEDC, Romulo worked at MTA’s New York City Transit in capital planning and has had several positions in finance working in the investment management industry.

Romulo received an M.A. in International Economics and International Relations from Johns Hopkins University with a focus on energy, resources and environment. Romulo also has an M.A. from Columbia University and a B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University.
