Paul Parazzoli
Quantum Public Sector Lead
IBM
Paul Parazzoli leads U.S. government strategy and partnerships for IBM Quantum, working across defense agencies, national laboratories, and state economic development initiatives to accelerate the adoption of quantum computing. With a combination of science research experience and policy expertise, he bridges research communities, federal program offices, and industry to build the institutional partnerships needed to advance the field.
Before joining IBM, Paul was a physicist at Sandia National Laboratories, where his research focused on ion trapping, atomic physics, and integrated photonics. He subsequently served as a Program Manager at the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science, overseeing federal investments in quantum research and technology development. These experiences across the national laboratory complex and federal government inform his current work shaping how quantum computing enters the defense and national security ecosystem.
Paul holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Colorado Boulder and a B.S. from the University of Washington.
