Melissa Johnston is the Bureau Manager for Infrastructure and Apprenticeship Expansion within the Office of Workforce Development at the New York State Department of Labor. In this role, she leads a skilled team of Apprenticeship Navigators who play a critical role in helping New York State employers to become Apprenticeship program sponsors. Melissa also oversees the agency’s Workforce Infrastructure team that assist with major workforce development staffing initiatives such as the I-81 viaduct. With more than 17 years of dedicated experience in workforce development at the Department of Labor, Melissa is passionate about supporting businesses and driving growth through effective workforce solutions.
