Finalists for the “Coolest Thing Made in New York" Contest
ALBANY, NY — The Business Council of New York State, Inc. announced today that the two finalists in the Third Annual Coolest Thing Made in New York contest have been selected. Both finalists were selected following several weeks of public voting that generated more than 30,000 votes.
The remaining two manufacturers are as follows:
- Finger Lakes Textiles, Waterloo, New York – Arctic Gear
- Moog Inc., Elma, New York – Linear Actuator System
“Congratulations to Finger Lakes Textiles and Moog Inc. on reaching the finals of this year’s contest,” said Heather Mulligan, President and CEO of The Business Council of New York State, Inc. “The level of engagement from individuals throughout the State of New York and beyond has been impressive to watch. With only a couple more weeks to go in this year’s competition, we’re excited to see who will be selected as this year’s winner. Make sure you check out our two finalists and vote for the product you think is the ‘coolest.’”
Both finalists have been invited to The Business Council’s Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner at The Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing where they will have the opportunity to showcase their products to more than 200 business professionals and other attendees.
Voting for the two finalists will continue throughout the Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, September 24th, where the winner will eventually be announced.
38 manufacturers competed in this year’s competition, which began on August 10th with an initial round of public voting. The field was eventually narrowed down to the top 16 manufacturers where a head-to-head bracket style competition then took place.
The “Coolest Thing Made in New York” contest helps raise awareness and highlight the hard-working men and women of our manufacturing industry, while also promoting the innovation, creativity, and high-quality goods made right here in The Empire State.
Voting will be open beginning today, Tuesday, September 8th until Thursday, September 24th. (one vote per product, per day, per device).
