“This decision underscores the concerns we have continued to raise surrounding New York’s Climate Change Superfund Act,” said Heather Mulligan, President and CEO of the Business Council of New York State, Inc. “While we certainly support efforts to improve our state's climate and environment, it's equally important that those policies are both sound and recognize their impacts. This law would likely result in billions of dollars in increased energy costs for New York businesses and residents. We appreciate the Court’s careful examination of our challenge and thank the United States Chamber of Commerce for their support and continued partnership in advocating for policies that will protect New York’s environment, while also protecting the businesses, workers, and consumers who drive our state’s economy."
