Bart has over 25 years of extensive experience in utility leadership roles and currently serves as the Vice President of Clean Energy Development at National Grid. His tenure at National Grid is characterized by a strong commitment to advancing clean energy and strategic planning, where he has played a pivotal role in developing innovative investment strategies.
As the head of Clean Energy Development, Bart oversees the creation of cutting-edge energy solutions and sustainable infrastructure programs aimed at addressing the challenges of decarbonizing New York’s electric grid and promoting the electrification of transportation. Through collaborative partnerships with state agencies and industry stakeholders, he has successfully identified and secured a robust portfolio of regulated transmission investments, significantly advancing New York’s clean energy transition.
Before leading business development initiatives, Bart served as the head of Transmission Planning, Asset Management, and Systems Data, where he guided engineering teams in developing capital work plans and data management strategies. His expertise also includes a role as the Director of Regulation and Pricing, where he provided written and oral testimony in numerous state and federal rate proceedings and testified in legislative hearings on energy-related issues. Additionally, he has over a decade of experience in nuclear plant fuel engineering and operations.
Bart holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the State University of New York at Oswego and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Syracuse University.
