ALBANY—Pamela Finch, executive director of the Employer Alliance for Affordable Health Care, has been named
Small Business Advocate for The Business Council.
In this new role, Finch will lead The Business Council's efforts to advocate for small-business owners in New York State.
"Small businesses represent both the backbone of New York's economy and the core of The Business Council's membership, and serving their interests is a top priority of ours," said Business Council President Kenneth Adams. "Pam is well suited for this challenge because she has broad and deep experience serving small businesses in a large membership organization and because she has worked in a range of settings as a communications professional."
Finch has served most recently as executive director of the Employer Alliance for Affordable Health Care, a grassroots coalition of businesses focused on preserving high-quality and affordable health care by opposing health-insurance mandate legislation.
Previously, she has also served in public relations roles Cowley Associates of Syracuse and the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES. She has also worked as a tourism development specialist with the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and as a reporter with the Little Falls Evening Times and the Amsterdam Recorder.
She earned a degree in journalism technology at the State University of New York at Morrisville.
