Rockefeller Institute to host seminar on doing IT business with New York State

The Rockefeller Institute will reprise its popular seminar on doing information technology business with New York on Wednesday August 8 at the Desmond Hotel & Conference Center in Albany.

The seminar, which is co-sponsored by the Procurement Services Group of the state Office of General Services (OGS), is designed to help participants understand the state's IT contracting processes for information technology products and services.

The agenda includes:

  • An overview of procurement basics with Don Greene, the assistant director of the Procurement Services Group.

  • A presentation on consultant disclosure law by Donna Blake from the state Comptroller's office.

  • A discussion of the vendor responsibility process led by Diane Taylor from the state comptroller's office.

  • An explanation of tax certification law from David Milstein, a senior attorney with the state Department of Taxation and Finance.

  • An overview of the procurement lobbying law by Lisa Fox, a senior attorney with OGS.

  • A presentation of annual technology plans by Nancy Gutterman from state office of the Chief Information Officer.

  • A discussion of ethics law led by Theresa Schillaci from the state Ethics Commission.

  • An explanation of hardware, software and telecommunications contracting areas led by staffers from OGS.

The seminar will close with a question and answer session.
