Statement in Response to Tariffs

"Manufacturing drives New York’s economy to the tune of $85 billion in products produced annually, with $76 billion worth of goods exported to diverse markets worldwide. Across the board tariffs risk raising both production and consumer costs unnecessarily. The Business Council will continue its advocacy work with state and federal partners to highlight the impacts tariffs have on our workforce and consumers. Together, we share the same belief that there are alternative approaches to growing our economy at home, including tax and regulatory reform, as well as developing a skilled workforce."
