“In late February, The Business Council was the victim of a cyberattack by criminals who used their vast resources to circumvent our network security. We immediately contained the incident and launched a thorough investigation, which included engaging with cybersecurity professionals and legal counsel, to ensure appropriate and timely notification to those people whose information was potentially compromised. To date, we are not aware of any reports that information has been used for identity theft or financial fraud related to this incident. The claims levied by the plaintiffs in these lawsuits have no merit. We intend to defend against these claims.”
