The Business Council on Tuesday showed support for the Automatic Sealing of Certain Convictions legislation, commonly known as the Clean Slate Act. The Business Council’s Executive Vice President, Paul Zuber, spoke at a rally at the New York State Capitol, calling for the legislation to be passed. The Business Council believes the bill is about doing the right thing, creating second-chance opportunities for individuals ready to reenter the workforce, and helping the economy. The common-sense legislation allows many people in historically marginalized communities to participate in the economic growth that is currently being stalled because businesses cannot hire enough people.
