The Business Council of New York State PAC Announces 2022 Political Endorsements

ALBANY – The Business Council of New York State’s Political Action Committee (PAC) today released the following 2022 endorsements for New York State legislature and two state-wide offices.

Endorsements are based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s voting record, their engagement with The Business Council on issues important to our advocacy agenda, a candidate’s response to the PAC’s policy questionnaire, and their positions on key policy issues.

The PAC’s endorsements include:

Governor

- Kathy Hochul (Incumbent)

“Governor Hochul has worked with The Business Council and its members on major economic & climate issues going back to her time in office as Lieutenant Governor. We have a strong relationship with the governor’s office which has made itself accessible and open to listening to the needs of the business community,” said Heather Briccetti Mulligan, President & CEO of The Business Council. “As we move forward in an ever-changing economy, it’s important that business advocacy groups can work with a governor who is willing to have open discussions on key economic policies that will impact the state’s private-sector employers and working families.”

“As New York businesses face significant economic challenges, we need governmental leaders who recognize the impact that major policy decisions will have on the private sector’s ability and willingness to invest, create and maintain good paying jobs, expand the state’s economy for the benefit of all New Yorkers and are committed to working with the business community,” said Heather Briccetti Mulligan, President & CEO. “We need a state legislature that understands and appreciates the vital role that the private sector plays in New York’s economy, as they provide jobs and paychecks to families across New York State and are the basis for tax revenues that support state and local government programs. The Business Council’s PAC endorsements reflect our bipartisan support for candidates we believe can see this value and who have supported pro-business policies and considered the needs of employers and workers alike.”
