The Business Council Announces Pintail Coffee as Winner of the Minority & Women’s Business Award
ALBANY – The Business Council of New York State announced Friday that Pintail Coffee was named the winner of the annual Minority & Women’s Business Award. Pintail Coffee is located in Farmingdale and was nominated by Senator Monica Martinez.
Pintail Coffee owners Rahat and Zaki Hossain once owned a manufacturing facility that was instrumental in the development of the K-Cup technology. The couple recognized an opportunity to create Pintail Coffee, with a mission to feed the hungry donating 100% of the profits going to hunger relief organizations. Pintail’s Long Island-based, state-of-the-art facility produces a wide variety of coffee products blended by a Master Roaster.
The Minority & Women’s Business Award was created based on The Business Council’s belief in the continued promotion of economic growth and prosperity for all and that opportunity should be given to all employers, regardless of race or creed. The award honors minority, women, and LGBTQ businesses by recognizing their history and success. This year 55 businesses from across the state were nominated by their legislator.
“Congratulations to Pintail Coffee on their success and mission to feed the hungry,” said Heather Briccetti Mulligan, President & CEO of The Business Council. “The Business Council is proud to recognize Pintail Coffee with the Minority & Women’s Business Award. It is truly an honor to shine a light on the many remarkable businesses across the state that are led by hardworking individuals of all races, colors, and creeds.”
The Minority and Women’s Business Award is sponsored by National Grid. National Grid has been a great partner of The Business Council by supporting the association’s many diversity and inclusion programs.
