Matthew LaFlair is the Director of NY Integrated Planning and Solutions at Natation Grid and is responsible for leveraging his engineering and industry expertise to incorporate new and evolutionary solutions and technologies/ tools on the electric network. Specifically in areas such as electric system planning, beneficial electrification support, grid modernization, network optimization, and deployment of battery energy storage.
Matthew holds a BS & Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clarkson University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, respectively, and an MBA from Syracuse University. Through his career with National Grid he has conducted analytical studies for transmission system expansions and implementation of the NERC standards, developed a long-term strategic utility plans supporting the energy transition, and managed the development and implementation of asset strategies for all distribution assets within National Grid NY.
