John Olsen is the New York State Lead for the Blockchain Association (BA). For BA, John engages with policymakers, BA's DC-based team, and association member companies to develop New York State-specific policies and messaging on key issues, including Bitlicense reform, financial inclusion, and Bitcoin mining legislation. Prior to his work with crypto and blockchain companies, he most recently served as senior vice president of state government affairs for the Internet Association (IA). John is an experienced government relations professional with a demonstrated history of working in public policy in the Northeast United States. He has a profound knowledge of New York State politics and the legislative process. John has almost two decades of experience representing, managing, and working with global internet companies, non-profit organizations, trade associations, and government relations firms.
