"The governor is right in wanting to avoid disrupting a recovering economy, especially during the holiday season. From the beginning of the pandemic, businesses have been proactive in their response by adapting to policy changes and government mandates, all while creating safer conditions for employees and customers. They desperately want to avoid a repeat of April 2020. Vaccine availability for all New Yorkers is a dramatic change from last winter. Their full deployment and other basic safety measures give the state an alternative to protecting public health rather than broad economic shutdowns."
