“The Business Council applauds the Legislature and the Governor for approving alcohol ‘to-go’ as part of the State Budget. The passage of ‘to-go’ is a step towards the modernization of the ABC Laws. We also commend the Governor and Legislature for including the provision to create a temporary commission to reform ABC laws within the budget. The Commission will have the ability to recommend changes to the archaic ABC laws that for far too long have hindered the development of the state’s wine and spirits industry, limited job growth, and prevented the expansion of small businesses, including wine and spirits retailers. We look forward to the work of the Commission to bring forth a new and modern approach to alcohol policy.”
