Dr. Marsha Gordon to Receive The Business Council’s Corning Award for Excellence

Annual Award to be Presented at a September 18th Dinner

ALBANY – Dr. Marsha Gordon, President/CEO of The Business Council of Westchester (BCW), has been named the recipient of the 2025 Corning Award for Excellence by The Business Council of New York State, Inc. The award will be presented during the awards dinner at The Business Council’s Annual Meeting on September 18th.

A widely recognized authority on the business climate in Westchester and a highly effective connector of businesses of all sizes, as well as community-based organizations, Dr. Gordon is the leader of Westchester County’s largest and most influential business organization. Under her leadership, the BCW has tripled its membership, which includes leading global companies that call Westchester home, major hospitals and healthcare organizations, educational institutions, entrepreneurially owned companies, hundreds of mid-sized and small businesses, as well as more than 150 not-for-profit organizations.

The Business Council has presented the award in partnership with Corning Incorporated for 47 years. Previous recipients include John Catsimatidis, Businessman and Radio Personality (2024), Kathryn Wylde, President & CEO of the Partnership for New York City (2023), Eric Mower (2022), G. Thomas Tranter, former President and Director of Community and Government Affairs for Corning Enterprises (2021), and H. Carl McCall (2020).

The Business Council’s Annual Meeting

This year’s Annual Meeting will take place September 17 – 19 at The Sagamore Resort, Bolton Landing. The three-day event will focus on the issues impacting New York’s businesses and the state’s future political landscape.

  • Programming begins on Thursday, September 18, with a speaker from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce before a morning of impactful panel discussions and programming that is important to New York’s business community.
  • The Friday, September 19, agenda consists of discussions on the health of the state’s current and future economy. 

The Business Council has invited statewide elected officials to speak at this year’s event.
