The Business Council of New York State Announces Round of 16 Finalists for the Inaugural “Coolest Thing Made in New York" Contest
ALBANY—The Business Council of New York State Inc. announced Monday that the public has chosen 16 finalists to advance to the Round of 16 in the Coolest Thing Made in New York competition.
Forty-five businesses applied for this year’s contest and competed in the popular vote last week. The top 16 businesses to receive the most votes and advance are -

- Cabot Creamery Cooperative (Chateaugay)
- CAF USA (Elmira Heights)
- E.L. Designs (Cambridge)
- General Motors (Buffalo)
- Kwik-Kut Manufacturing Company (Mohawk)
- NightRide Thermal Inc. (Brooklyn)
- Rifton (Rifton)
- Riverhawk Company (New Hartford)
- Rome Specialty Company, Inc. (Rome)
- Scarano Boat Building (Albany)
- Stewart's Shops Corp. (Ballston Spa)
- The Raymond Corporation (Greene)
- Toonie Moonie Organics, Ltd. (Oneonta)
- Unshattered (Wappingers Falls)
- Vesucre (Oneonta)

The statewide initiative spotlights the innovation, creativity, and manufacturing excellence of businesses across the state. This exciting competition provides a platform for manufacturers to showcase their products and highlight their vital role in driving New York's economy forward.
Weekly winners will be decided by a public vote on the contest’s website, allowing New Yorkers to have a direct say in determining the coolest product made in the state.
The voting process is as follows.
- August 5- August 11 = Round of 16
- During this week, products will be put head-to-head with one another, and the winner of each head-to-head matchup will move on. (one vote per product per day per device).
- August 12-August 18 = Round of 8.
- During this week, products will once again be put head-to-head with one another, and the winner of each head-to-head matchup will move on. (one vote per product per day per device).
- August 19 – August 25 = Round of 4
- During this week, products will once again be put head-to-head with one another, and the winner of each head-to-head matchup will move on. (one vote per product per day per device).
- September 2 – September 19 = Final 2
- During these two weeks, the final two products will again be put head-to-head. (one vote per product per day per device).
The final two contests will be invited to The Sagamore Resort to showcase their products to the more than 250 attendees of The Business Council’s Annual Meeting, where voting will be allowed until we announce a winner on the evening of September 19th at our awards dinner.
