Dr. Eleonore Fournier-Tombs is the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer for New York State, where she leads the responsible adoption and governance of AI across state government. A data scientist and AI policy expert, she has spent two decades working at the intersection of technology, public policy, and global affairs, including leadership and advisory roles with the United Nations and World Bank. In 2023 and 2024, she was the Research Lead for the UN Secretary General's AI Advisory Body, which developed the current initiatives in global AI governance. She is also an Adjunct Lecturer at NYU’s Center for Global Affairs in data science, and is the author of dozens of reports, articles and two books on the impact of AI on society.
