Darren Suarez is the North American Vice-President of Public Affairs and Communications for Boralex, Inc. Boralex has more than three decades of experience developing, building, and operating renewable energy power facilities in the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom, and has been a consistent presence in the state of New York for over 20 years.
Darren leads Boralex’s North American public affairs and communications team. The North American team manages the communication and public affairs needs of nearly two gigawatts (GW) of wind, solar and hydro resources, across 52 sites, two countries, five provinces, and six states, while developing an additional two GW greenfield project pipeline. Prior to joining Boralex, Darren was a Senior Director of Government Affairs at The Business Council of New York State, Inc. where, for eight years, he advocated for members on energy and environmental issues. Darren also spent several years working for the New York State Senate where he focused on environmental issues and economic and tax policy.
