Dan has over 20 years of service with New York State and is the Director of the Division of Environmental Permits at the Department of Environmental Conservation’s (DEC) Central office in Albany, NY. He has responsibility for the management of Environmental Permits staff who manage permit applications and environmental reviews subject to the Uniform Procedures Act (UPA), the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Act, the Office of Renewable Energy Siting (ORES), and Article X and Article VII projects of the New York State Public Service Law. Before his appointment as Division Director, Dan was the Regional Permit Administrator at DEC’s Region 3 office in New Paltz, NY, responsible for the coordination and management of staff, permit applications and SEQR reviews, including project manager for several high-profile projects. Prior to his appointment to the Region 3 office Dan worked in Albany for Environmental Permits’ SEQR & Training Unit, responsible for managing projects and educating the public and local governments in the SEQR process through public outreach and training programs. Prior to working for DEC, he worked as the Director of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at The LA Group, a Capital District Landscape Architecture, Engineering and Planning consultancy.
