Members interested in learning more about compensation of workers in many professions and industries are urged to participate in a major survey on this topic -and, by doing so, to receive a substantial discount on the comprehensive survey results.

Compensation Data - New York is an annual pay and benefits survey sponsored by The Council and conducted by Compdata Surveys. More than 400 positions are surveyed each year.

The 1997 edition reported on 229,399 incumbents across New York. Pay information is reported by company size, industry, and region.

The publication includes complete sections on benefits and pay practices, and it includes information on current issues such as turnover rates, child care aid, and telecommuting.

The 1997 survey uncovered some emerging developments in compensation practices due to fierce competition for workers statewide. The 1998 survey, which is being conducted this month, will continue to track those trends.

For example, the 1997 survey confirmed that many employers are struggling to find qualified employees.

The price of the 1998 publication is $239 for survey participants and $459 for non-participants.

Data collection packets are available through May. The results are collected and prepared for publication and the book is expected to be delivered by August.
