The state Assembly has announced a budget resolution calling for $75 million in new tax cuts.

"Our state's economic future is closely tied to our ability to retain and create high-technology jobs and ensure that our state's workforce is prepared to hold these demanding jobs," Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver said in a news release.

The cuts are targeted to job creation in high-tech industries and small business, and to worker development.

Meanwhile, Senate Democratic Leader Martin Connor unveiled a tax cut proposal that includes repeal of the ton-mileage tax and support of Governor Pataki's energy-tax reforms.
