Top business leaders from around the state will participate in a panel discussion on New York's current and future economic climate at The Business Council's Annual Meeting Sept. 22-24 at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing.
At the session, which will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, panelists from different regions will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the state's current climate, and share ideas on how New York's policymakers can improve that climate.
Scheduled participants include: William Allyn, president of Welch Allyn Inc.; Stanley J. Grubel, CEO of MiCRUS; Eric Mower, chairman/CEO of Eric Mower and Associates; and Heidi A. Nauleau, chairman of the Aarque Companies. Dan Lynch, a columnist for the Albany Times-Union, will moderate.
New York Attorney General Elliot Spitzer will speak at the meeting. Governor Pataki and New York Congressmen John Sweeney, Thomas R. Reynolds, and Anthony D. Weiner have also been invited to speak.
This year, The Council is celebrating its 20th Annual Meeting with a special black-tie dinner on Thursday, Sept. 23.
At the meeting, which is open to all Council members, top business and government leaders discuss many policy issues, and Council leaders set legislative priorities for the year ahead.
The program includes entertainment and recreational opportunities, including golf and tennis tournaments, a 5K run, cruises, a dude ranch trip, and more. Mark Russell, a noted political satirist and comedian, will also appear at the meeting.
