The Business Council Welcomes Three New Members
to Team Advocating for New York Businesses
ALBANY, NY – The Business Council of New York State, Inc. today announced three new additions to its team: Ryan Mulson, who joins as Senior Director of Government Affairs for Energy and Environment; as well as Jared Hunter and Piper Chimento, who both join as Legislative Analysts.
Mulson will oversee The Business Council’s energy, environment, and manufacturing portfolio. In his role, he will work closely with stakeholders, advocacy groups, and elected officials to ensure that proposed policies and initiatives are beneficial to New York’s businesses.
Mulson brings years of policy and political experience to the Business Council. Prior to joining The Business Council, he worked for the New York Senate Republican Conference where he managed energy and environmental policy and worked in floor operations. In addition to his contributions in Albany, Mulson worked for the Speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives where he managed the Rules Committee and worked with industry to advance pro-business policies. He also brings multiple cycles of campaign experience that he utilizes to develop legislative strategy.
Hunter and Chimento will work directly with the government affairs team to complete various administrative tasks - including attending meetings, communicating with Business Council members and elected officials and other government personnel. The team will also assist with ongoing issues and policies that impact business.
Hunter earned his B.S. in Sociology from the University at Albany in 2020 where he was actively involved in many programs including SUNY Albany Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program, Black and Latino Achievers, Alpha Esq., and Albany Police Athletic League. Upon graduating, he went on to serve as a Congressional Caseworker for Congressman Gregory Meeks where he assisted constituents in navigating issues involving federal agencies while gaining firsthand experience in government and public policy.
Chimento earned a Bachelor of Arts earlier this year from Lafayette College in Government and Law and Anthropology/Sociology. She recently interned with Brown & Weinraub Advisors, LLC in Albany.
