The Business Council of New York State to Hold Annual Meeting This Week
Several Individuals, Organizations to Be Honored at Annual Awards Dinner
ALBANY, NY – The Business Council of New York State, Inc. is gearing up for its Annual Meeting and Conference this week at The Sagamore Resort, Bolton Landing. The multi-day meeting - which begins on Wednesday, Sept. 23 - is one of The Business Council's most premier events and brings together business leaders, elected officials, prominent guests, and others for networking opportunities and discussions important to New York’s business climate and economy.
On Thursday evening, The Business Council will also present the following awards to individuals or organizations being recognized at the Annual Awards Dinner:

Corning Award for Excellence - Governor George E. Pataki
- Chuck Steiner Memorial Chamber of the Year Award - The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce
- Father Peter Young Award for Community Service - Maureen O’Brien, President & CEO of New York Industries for the Disabled (NYSID)
- Member of the Year Award – JPMorganChase
Minority and Women’s Business Award Finalists - Winner will be announced at dinner.

In July, The Business Council began accepting applications from manufacturers from New York State wishing to compete in this year’s Coolest Thing Made in New York contest. Following several weeks of popular voting, the field has been narrowed down to the two remaining finalists below:
- Moog, Inc. – Linear Actuator System
- Finger Lake Textiles – Arctic Gear
Voting for the Coolest Thing Made in New York Contest will remain live until Thursday, September 24th at 4PM. The winner of this contest will also be announced at the dinner.
