The Business Council of New York State Announces Voting to Open Monday for the Third Annual “Coolest Thing Made in New York" Contest
Annual Contest Raises Awareness about New York's Hard-Working Manufacturers and Products Made
Public Voting Will Determine Winner
ALBANY, NY - The Business Council of New York State Inc. announced today that voting for the Third Annual ‘Coolest Thing Made in New York’ contest will open on Monday, August 10th. The statewide initiative spotlights the innovation, creativity, and manufacturing excellence of businesses across the State of New York. This exciting competition provides a platform for manufacturers to showcase their products and highlight their vital role in driving New York's economy forward.
"Manufacturing has always been the backbone of New York's economy," said Heather Mulligan, President and CEO of the Business Council of New York State. "Each and every day, from every corner of the state, manufacturers continue to produce world-class products that compete across the entire globe. We should celebrate their ingenuity, as well as the many products that are made right here at home. I encourage everyone to get out and vote for their favorite products while also recognizing the hard-working men and women who keep the Empire State's manufacturing industry strong."

The Business Council received 38 applications from manufacturers across each region of New York State. Each of the entries will be part of the first round ‘Popular’ vote to narrow the field down to the top 16 selections. From there, the contest transforms into a bracket-style head-to-head competition format, with manufacturers competing against each other in weekly matchups. Weekly winners will be decided by a public vote on the contest’s website, allowing New Yorkers to have a direct say in determining the coolest product made in the state.
The voting process is as follows:

August 10 – August 16 = Popular Vote

The public can vote for as many of their favorite products as they would like. The 16 companies that receive the most votes will move on in the competition to the head-to-head bracket-style challenge. (one vote per product per day per device).

August 17 - August 23 = Round of 16
- During this week, products will be put head-to-head with one another, and the winner of each head-to-head matchup will move on. (one vote per product per day per device).

August 24 - August 30 = Round of 8.

During this week, products will once again be put head-to-head with one another, and the winner of each head-to-head matchup will move on. (one vote per product per day per device).

- During this week, products will once again be put head-to-head with one another, and the winner of each head-to-head matchup will move on. (one vote per product per day per device).

September 8 – September 24 = Final 2
- During these two weeks, the final two products will again be put head-to-head. (one vote per product per day per device).
The final two contests will be invited to The Sagamore Resort to showcase their products to the more than 250 attendees of The Business Council’s Annual Meeting, where voting will be allowed until we announce a winner on the evening of September 24th at our awards dinner.
