The Business Council of New York State Announces Remaining Four Products Competing in

Third Annual “Coolest Thing Made in New York" Contest

ALBANY, NY —The Business Council of New York State Inc. announced today that the “Coolest Thing Made in New York” Contest has been narrowed down to the remaining four finalists. The “Round of 4” were selected following another week of public voting.

Thirty-eight manufacturers throughout New York State applied for this year’s contest, with public voting beginning on August 10th. Following several rounds of voting, contestants were narrowed down to the remaining 16, and eventually 8. Following last week’s head-to-head competition of the remaining eight, the Round of 4 have been determined and are as follows:

“Over 25,000 votes have been submitted since the beginning of this year’s contest and it has been wonderful to see so many people from across the State of New York rooting for the manufacturers in their communities and their favorite products,” said Heather Mulligan, President and CEO of The Business Council of New York State. “The contest is certainly heating up, and we’re excited to see the results of this next round of voting which will determine our two finalists. The statewide contest helps raise awareness and highlights the innovation, creativity, and manufacturing industry across The State of New York, while also drawing attention to its vital impact on the state’s economy.

The voting process is as follows:

  • August 31 – September 6 = Round of 4
    • During this week, products will once again be put head-to-head with one another, and the winner of each head-to-head matchup will move on. (one vote per product per day per device).

  • September 8 – September 24 = Final 2
    • During these two weeks, the final two products will again be put head-to-head. (one vote per product per day per device).

The final two contestants will also be invited to The Business Council’s Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner on Thursday, September 24th at Sagamore Resort, Bolton Landing. The two finalists will have the opportunity to showcase their products at the event where voting will continue right up to the award presentation.
