The Business Council Announces NightRide Thermal as the Inaugural ‘Coolest Thing Made in New York’ Contest
ALBANY – NightRide Thermal, a thermal imaging camera manufacturer based in Brooklyn, received more than 40,000 votes in the final voting round to win the inaugural Coolest Thing Made in New York manufacturing contest.
The final two contestants, chosen by online public votes, were Alcoa Aluminum Company and NightRide Thermal.
“We are so honored that NightRide Thermal has been chosen as The Coolest Thing Made in New York recipient,” said Mary Ellen Kramer, CEO of NightRide Thermal. “These votes are not only an acknowledgment of the company but also the importance of the safety and security we provide. We are most grateful to The Business Council of New York State for creating the opportunity for us and all the great companies that competed.”
Forty-five businesses applied for this year’s contest and competed in the initial popular vote. The top 16 businesses that received the most votes advanced to the head-to-head bracket tournament. Weekly winners were decided by a public vote on the Made in New York website, allowing New Yorkers to have a direct say in determining the coolest product made in the state.
More than 115,000 votes were cast in the entire competition over a seven-week period.
