Michael Cronin, P.E.

Mike is the director of the Bureau of Stationary Sources in the Division of Air Resources.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo and has been a licensed professional engineer since 1995.

Mike began his career at DEC in 1991 and has spent the past 25 years focusing on air permitting and stationary source control programs.  Mike has extensive experience in stationary source permitting, inspections and compliance matters, and regulatory and policy development for various source categories at both the staff and management levels.  In his earlier years with DEC, he developed and evaluated air quality program elements for inclusion in New York’s state implementation plan (SIP).  Prior to beginning his career with DEC, Mike worked a few years with an engineering testing and site remediation consultant.
