ALBANY, N.Y.—“The federal infrastructure plan contains some welcome news for the millions of business and residential energy customers throughout New York who have been impacted by constrained natural gas infrastructure. Ratepayers across the state saw firsthand the negative impacts of the lack of new pipeline construction as natural gas prices soared 1,374 percent over the previous year during the recent polar vortex. We applaud the federal government for taking steps to protect consumers from state-level obstruction on investments in critically needed pipeline expansion."
