Business Council Hosts Spring Environment Conference and Green Business Expo

ALBANY— The Business Council of New York State, Inc. will host its 2008 Spring Environment Conference and Green Business Expo on June 3, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Albany, NY.

Focusing on “Green Business” this one-day conference will provide attendees with the latest information on the clean technology industry from industry experts and key officials of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).

Participants will have the opportunity to hear from and meet the experts who write and implement environmental laws and regulations.

The keynote speaker will be Jared Synder, assistant commissioner, Office of Air Resources, Climate Change and Energy at DEC.

Another highlight will be speaker Michael Younis, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. who will discuss green buildings, including the definition, a breakdown of the technology, the benefits of going green in construction and the certification process.

Other sessions will include: a legislative update from Business Council staff, air, water and solid waste programs, brownfields, the Pollution Prevention Institute and carbon footprinting.
