ALBANY, N.Y.—The Business Council of New York State, Inc. today endorsed Chris McGrath for New York State Senate in the 9th District special election to be held on Tuesday, April 19.

“Chris McGrath is known as a hard worker with a tenacious commitment to his neighbors and his family. His strong support of reducing New York’s crushing tax burden makes him the only choice for the state’s business community,” said Heather C. Briccetti, Esq., president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State, Inc. “Chris supports reductions in the small business PIT, full and immediate elimination of the 18a energy tax surcharge, estate tax reductions, permanent indexing of the personal income tax brackets for inflation, and reducing taxes for seniors by increasing the tax exemptions of private pensions and retirement income. McGrath is a business owner who understands that hidden taxes hurt suburban families, seniors and the people who help grow and create jobs.”

The Business Council represents nearly 2,500 private sector employers across New York State, with members in all economic sectors and of all sizes, who together employ more than 1.2 million New Yorkers. The Political Action Committee of The Business Council makes endorsements of candidates who support The Council's mission to create economic growth, good jobs and strong communities across New York State.
