Thank you to all who attended our virtual regional meetings with the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) this July to discuss the results and opportunities from the Business Workforce Survey. In case you missed it, full survey results are here.
During the regional meetings, NYSDOL also presented some preliminary data from their jobseeker survey which they administered following the Business Workforce Survey. They recently released the full results of the jobseeker survey, which can be found here. One thing the survey confirmed that we had already known anecdotally is that many jobseekers are looking for opportunities in new industries. Another valuable piece of information is that jobseekers similarly identified lacking skills that industries are looking for, based on the Business Workforce Survey results.
While we continue to have one-on-one follow-up conversations from our regional meetings, I would like to invite you to join us for a follow-up meeting Thursday, October 7, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM to collectively discuss the opportunities the results from these surveys provide.
