Contract Procurement Committee Meeting
The next meeting of The Business Council’s Contract Procurement Committee will be on March 5, 2019 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. The meeting will be held at The Business Council’s offices at 111 Washington Avenue in Albany. The committee will discuss procurement issues in the proposed executive budget, a follow-up strategy in regards to the IT Umbrella contract, and 2019 legislative session issues.
The agenda will be published shortly but we will be addressed by Margaret N. Becker, Deputy Comptroller Contracts and Expenditures, Office of State Comptroller. She will discuss procurement issues in the proposed executive budget 2019-2020.
The staffing of the committee has recently been changed and, commencing February 1st, Johnny Evers will be The Business Council staffer assigned to Contract Procurement. Dr. Evers has previously served on the NYS Procurement Council in the early 2000s and currently staffs two other committees at The Business Council dealing with state procurement issues: the Construction Council and Information Technology, Telecommunications, & E-Commerce Committee. In the area of procurement, he is also The Business Council’s point person regarding the re-authorization of Article 15-a of the Executive Law, the portion of law authorizing the State’s Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) program.
