About
the Speakers
Michael J. Griffin and Pete
Sammis are partners at Strategic
Planning Partners LLC (SPP), a Long Island based consulting firm. Mr. Griffin
and Mr. Sammis have over 30 years combined experience with the
U.S. Coast Guard. They have extensive backgrounds and expertise
in homeland security and disaster preparedness. Mr. Sammis served
in multiple capacities with the Coast Guard in New York following
9/11, including assignments as Chief of the Coast Guard’s
Operations and Planning Sections for execution of Maritime Homeland
Security operations in New York City. Mr. Griffin headed the Coast
Guard’s Homeland Security Branch for Long Island and was
the Coast Guard’s Lead Planning Officer for the Republican
National Convention. They both left active service in 2005 to form
SPP, specializing in homeland security solutions and emergency
preparedness / business continuity services.
In addition to homeland security subject matter expertise, Strategic
Planning Partners offers services in vulnerability & risk analysis,
regulatory support, NIMS/ICS consulting, business continuity and
recovery planning, government & industry cooperative development,
exercise development, formal training and grant development. SPP is focused on facilitating preparedness within the business sector
and forming strategic alliances among professional organizations
to represent business interests in the emergency management and
response communities before, during and after emergencies and catastrophic
events.

to the seminars. Your tuition will be refunded, less a $25 processing
fee. If you need to cancel less than 7 days prior, you may: 1)
send a substitute; or 2) receive a non-refundable credit voucher,
good for any Business Council seminar for up to one full year.
