We are excited to announce plans for our Annual Meeting at The Sagamore Resort. September in the Adirondacks is often described as the most beautiful time of the year, filled with warm days, cool nights. Our Annual Meeting is The Business Council’s premier event of the year, providing three days of information, inspiration and entertainment, creating a one-of-a-kind forum focusing on improving New York’s business climate and economy.

Campbell Brown Keynote Speaker

Campbell Brown

Joining the network in 1998, Brown was first assigned to cover President Clinton’s impeachment trial. After that, she was assigned to the Pentagon, reporting on the war in Kosovo. During her time in the Washington bureau, Brown also traveled extensively with President Clinton.

From 1996 to 1998, she was a correspondent for the NBC News Channel, where she covered national breaking news stories such as the crash of Swiss Air Flight #111 and the Pope’s historic visit to Cuba for NBC affiliates, MSNBC and CNBC. During that time, she was also a substitute anchor for the network’s then overnight newscast NBC Nightside. Dan Senor and Campbell Brown met in Baghdad shortly after the start of the Iraqi War-with Senor serving as the Bush Administration’s Chief Spokesman in Baghdad (and Senior Advisor to Presidential
Envoy L. Paul Bremer), and Brown in her role as the co-anchor of NBC’s TODAY Weekend

Edition and primary correspondent for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. At the podium, the husband-and-wife team speaks about global affairs in the unique dual view as seen through the lens of media reporter and government policy-maker. Brown and Senor combine to share more than two decades of experience in politics, government and the press, in leading a spirited discussion.

Brown started her career in local news as the political reporter covering Kansas politics for KSNT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Topeka, Kan. She then moved to WWBT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Richmond, VA. Brown also reported for WBAL-TV in Baltimore, Md. and WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. before joining the network.

Brown grew up in Louisiana, and graduated from Regis College in Denver, Colorado with a B.A. in Political Science. After graduation, she spent a year teaching English in the former Czechoslovakia.
