Business Council of New York State says the State Senate Majority's
Taxpayer Empowerment and Accountability Plan offers real reform

ALBANY—“The State Senate Majority's package to protect taxpayers from skyrocketing school costs and drive precious tax dollars into the classroom would provide meaningful reform to a system badly in need of it,” said Kenneth Adams, president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State. “We applaud the Senate Majority's continued efforts to enact a reform and accountability agenda that will save taxpayers real dollars.”

“The bills also seeks to reduce unnecessary spending and onerous regulations that add costs without any educational benefits,” said Adams.

“The package of bills would provide transparency so taxpayers know where their dollars are going. It would also end practices of double dipping by retired administrators and providing health and pension benefits to consultants and other non-employees which have recently been reported in the media,” added Adams.
