BUSINESS COUNCIL NAMES HEATHER BRICCETTI VICE PRESIDENT OF GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
ALBANY—Heather Briccetti, a consultant and lobbyist in government affairs with experience in the state Legislature and the state Attorney General's office, has been named vice president of government affairs for The Business Council.
In that role, she will lead The Business Council's lobbying and legislative affairs efforts in Albany.
"We're pleased to be adding such an experienced and knowledgeable professional to our team," said Business Council President Kenneth Adams. "Heather's diverse experience in different roles in government and in private-sector lobbying will help us better represent our members and the New York State business community in Albany."
Briccetti has served most recently as a consultant and lobbyist for Powers and Company, where she advises clients on a range of state and federal government relations issues.
Previously, she served as an assistant counsel to the state Senate majority, working on a range of issues, including economic development, budget reform, and consumer protection.
She has also served as special counsel in the office of the state Attorney General, where her responsibilities included coordinating activities between the bureaus in the Attorney General's office and the state Legislature and the Governor's office.
She has extensive experience as a litigator, having worked in private practice as a founding partner of Sweeney & Wollowitz and as chief public defender in Rensselaer County.
Briccetti earned a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a law degree from Albany Law School.
