Options for property tax reform will be focus of Jan. 10 conference in Albany

Options for reforming New York’s property tax will be the focus of a conference from 9 a.m.-noon January 10 at the Rockefeller Institute in Albany.

Scheduled speakers include:

  • Robert Ward, director of research for The Business Council and the Public Policy Institute.

  • E.J. McMahon Jr. of the Empire Center of the Manhattan Institute, a conservative think tank.

  • Frank Mauro of the Fiscal Policy Institute, a labor-backed think tank.

  • Kent Gardner of the Center for Governmental Research.

  • Jim Dunne of the Office of Real Property Services.

  • David Gaskell of the Hudson Group.

  • Elizabeth Karasmeighan of Americans for Tax Reform.

The event is sponsored by the Center for Governmental Research, the Empire Center for New York State Policy, and the Fiscal Policy Institute.
